The story so far.

Dr Braxton Beesworth is the foremost naturalist of his age. An driven man of breathtaking ambition he has determined to write the definitive beastiary cataloguing not only all the fauna on the Earth but all the fauna that has EVER lived upon the planet.

Dr Beesworth has assembled a band of adventurers hand picked for their diverse skills and together with his very great friend Mr Wells has created a working Time Machine. Unfortunately on an early trip there was a catastrophic failure of the temporal homing matrix (this failure has been dubbed a poing, pings being easy to fix). The Time Machine returned them to the 21st century rather than the 19th where they belong.

Having dug themselves out of the earth they have no alternative but to start a bar (two of the adventurers have previously run hostelries) in order to finance the repairs to the Time Machine (which is still functioning, just won't go back to the 19th century).

Welcome to The Yellow Book

Britain's first steampunk bar has opened in Brighton. We draw our inspiration from literary greats such as H.G. Wells and Jules Verne as well as Aubrey Beardsley, who was born not far away. Enjoy the tall tales of high adventure from our intrepid band who are all dressed in their 19th century clothes ready for a quick getaway should the temporal matrix get fixed.

Come and enjoy some of the finest wines, beers and spirits around.
